Shropshire Chess Congress

6th - 8th January 2023
At the;
Wrekin Housing Group
Colliers Way, Old Park, Telford, TF3 4AW

5 round Swiss with 4 sections for all playing abilities.
All sections ECF rated.
Open, Major (U1950), Intermediate (U1750), Minor (U1500).

Entry Fee: £30 all sections

Live boards from all sections
3 grading prizes in each section

Hot and cold food served on Saturday and Sunday, including cooked breakfasts and Sunday roast.
Bookstall provided by Chess Essentials, Halifax.

I'm pleased to see it's back.

It clashes with both the Hastings weekend and part of the 4NCL.

Hi Roger,

Yes its always clashed with Hastings being on that same weekend, but with the distance between them about 220 miles its not been a problem in the past.
A tad annoying re the 4ncl though.

I live about halfway between the two, it's about two hours by road in either direction. "last" year (2019) I played Hastings, so I may pencil in Telford.

£3.50 – 5 Item Breakfast (Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Beans, Mushrooms £5.00 – 7 Item Breakfast (Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Beans, Mushrooms, Tomato, Hash Browns)
£0.14 – Toast

Great to see the Shropshire Congress back for 2023! Well done Phil, for getting it back up and running. Looks like it may continue to compete for the best food at any congress as well as excellent playing conditions and a friendly organising team.
