The Huddersfield Chess Club is celebrating their 160th year with a Rapidplay .....
It will be held at the Huddersfield Grosvenor Casino on Sunday 29th April 2012 and will be a tournament tailored towards the casino with a guaranteed £1000 top prize.
It will be a single section accelerated swiss tournament consisting of 6 x 30 minutes games of chess.
For most players it will be a chance to play against top players who will be fighting it out for the top prize in an all or nothing situation but there will also be grading prizes of £100 for every 20 entries and also a non-graded prize of £100.
Entry fee is £10 for all players with no deductions for anyone!
The British Chess Magazine was founded by John Watkinson who also founded the Huddersfield Chess Club and they will be giving a years subscription to their magazine to the best U21 year old - unfortunately no-one under 18 years of age are allowed into a casino so sorry no juniors!
Entries may be limited so please enter early to avoid disappointment.
