March 25 - 16th Birmingham & District Chess League Rapidplay

The details of the 16th Birmingham League Rapidplay are:

Date: Sunday, March 25th
Venue: Quinborne Community Centre, Ridgacre Road, Quinton, B32 2TW
Chief Arbiter: Dave Thomas
Sections: FIDE-rated Open, Major (max grade 170), Intermediate (max grade 140), Minor (max grade 110)
Prize Fund: £1,005: Open (£200, £100, £50; grading £25), Other Sections (£120, £60, £30)
Entry Fees: Open: Adults £16, Juniors £13. Other Sections: Adults £14, Juniors: £11. GMs in the Open: £0. Late fee of £4 for entries postmarked after March 19th. There is a £6 late fee for entries on the day.
ECF Member Discount: A £1.50 refund will be given on the day upon production of a valid ECF Membership card.
Time Control: 20 minutes plus 10 seconds per completed move (hence, games will be played with a digital clock)
Round Times: 1000, 1130, 1300, 1430, 1600, 1730, Prize Giving ASAP after the final round (probably about 1845)
Catering: There will be "hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks" available for most of the day.

Note that all English players must be ECF members in order to participate in the FIDE-rated Open.

Note that the 2012 British Blitz Championship is taking place at the same venue the previous day.

A late fee now applies, but we're up to 76 entries, including 3 GMs and 3 FMs.
