Future Cinema presents Grease

From the creators of Secret Cinema, Future Cinema is creating a summer outdoor live experience around Grease, the greatest of High School musicals. The event will tie in with the London 2012 Olympics, taking 9000 people back to Rydell High over one weekend, in a London park setting.

What we're looking for: Chess players required
We are looking for volunteers to populate the world of Grease we are recreating. Sports and games are important part of High School life and we are looking to create and area for Chess Players, which will provisionally be located in the School Gym tent on site. We will provide an area for players, who would need to bring their own set and be responsible for it. We can provide free entry to the event +1 guest for all players and would be looking for them to be playing from 5pm until the start of the film at approx 7.30pm. After this time they would be welcome to stay and enjoy the film and the rest of the event, as not all the activities will finish with the beginning of the screening.

The event in brief:
We will invite our audience to enrol at Rydell High and become students once again for a once in a life time opportunity.

The audience will arrive at the venue dressed as T-Birds, Pink Ladies, Jocks and Drop Outs and will immediately be welcomed by trained actors and actresses to encourage their engagement within the immersive experience. We will have different, but key scenes, from the film (such as Rydell High, the Car Garage, Frosty's Diner, a Fun Fair) where the audience can experience 1950's American High School before being led to the screening area to watch the greatest of High School musicals. Tannoy announcements will bark instructions and usher students along to homeroom. Students enrolled on Driver’s Ed courses will attend class alongside the T-Birds, who are renovating Greased Lightning to be able to race her. The whole audience gathers together to observe and cheer on the drivers. Cha Cha, the best dancer at St Bernadette’s, starts the race with a yellow flag. Out of school and away from the Diner, the Fairground is the place for dates, being together with friends. The singalong takes place, with choreographed dancing.

The live event will culminate in a huge dance-off for Rydell students, where students from rival school, and the greasers and drop outs, have done their best to sneak in and enter for a chance to win, and get on TV. Once the winner King and Queen are crowned, the audience will be seated and the screening will begin!
