1st Birmingham International All-Play-Alls

Postby Alex Holowczak » Fri Aug 31, 2012 7:47 pm

I am organising the following event, designed for unrated players who would like to earn a FIDE rating:

Venue: Hill & Cakemore Liberal Club, 87 Nimmings Road, Halesowen B62 9JG

Weekend 1 (Friday 9 - Sunday 11 November):
Friday: 1 - 1900
Saturday: 2 - 1000, 3 - 1500
Sunday: 4 - 1000, 5 - 1500

Weekend 2 (Saturday 17 - Sunday 18 November):
Saturday: 6 - 1000, 7 - 1500
Sunday: 8 - 1000, 9 - 1500

Time control: 4 hour session. 90 minutes + 30 seconds per move.

Enough rated players for one section to be run are already confirmed. However, the aim is to run two sections, so there are still plenty of spots available.

The event is an All-Play-All - you must play in all rounds. You can't withdraw or take byes. The games will all be FIDE-rated and ECF-graded. The entry fee is £30 for unrated players, and £0 for rated players. All England-registered players must be ECF Gold members.

If you would like to play in this event, send me a private message via this forum, or send me an e-mail to alexholowczak@gmail.com

The second weekend has turned into an APA along similar lines to the first:

Friday 16 November: 1900
Saturday 17 November: 1000, 1500
Sunday 18 November: 1000, 1500

A rated player has pulled out, so another rated player is required. They get free entry; information about where to find the event is above.

Please get in touch ASAP (via the forum or e-mail) if you're interested in free entry to this weekend's event alone.
