Indeed. I'm also working on trying to secure more space as we have a number of additional people who want to play!

Further update. I will know on Tuesday if we can have more space so if you are interested in playing do let me know by then. I'm also trying to source alternative tables which will allow more players without affecting the quality of the playing space.

As an aside, I've been asked if we will be accelerating the pairings. Given that Jack Rudd is in the bottom half of the draw, I don't think it's necessary!

We can now accommodate an additional 20 players. If anyone still wants to play you should enter asap at http://www.e2e4.org.uk/basingstoke/oct2 ... online.htm

If anyone in the area is willing to play as a filler in this event if and when required (when there is a bye for example) please email me at [email protected]

Colours will be decided by the number of goals scored in the Arsenal v Schalke Champions League game. If there is an even number of goals, the top seed in each section will play white. If there is an odd number of goals, the top seed will play black. For these purposes, zero goals will count as an even number.

Sean,

Are there going to be any live games for this event?

I don't think so. What seems to be the problem?

Seems to be OK now. Positions on my browser were all frozen for about half an hour very near the start, for some reason.

Could have been an interruption to the internet access at this end. That would explain it looking ok on the network, but not reaching the wider world. If it jumped a load of moves, that's almost certainly it.
