1st Bexhill Weekend Chess Tournament

FIDE rated and ECF Graded

http://www.sussexweekendchess.blogspot.co.uk/

Our first weekend chess congress at Bexhill-on-Sea will take place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd March 2014. The tournament is being held at the Parkhurst Hall, Parkhurst Road, Bexhill on Sea TN39 3JA.

We have two sections of five rounds, every game is FIDE rated and ECF graded, Under 2200 and Under 1900. If you have no FIDE standard rating then you have to be Under 160 to play in the lower section.

The entry form is now live and the format will be very familiar to anyone who plays in the Hampstead Chess Congress or Golders Green Weekender series!

The event is being run by Adam Raoof and Geoff Gammon, with the kind assistance and encouragement of Jeremy Hudson.

Bexhill-on-Sea, home of the iconic De La Warr Pavilion, Keane, British Motor racing and of John Logie Baird, inventor of the television, offers you the opportunity of some competitive FIDE rated chess combined with healthy sea air and, hopefully, sunshine!

If you know any players looking for a game this weekend, we have just ten players in our top section at Bexhill, and it's an Under 2200 (190) with £200, £100, £80 in prizes! Nevertheless it looks very competitive - whoever wins will have earned their spurs.

Under 1900 section has 27 players, and looks likely to grow today.

We might hit 45 by the weekend?
