Would have loved to have come, as I’m also interested in seeing how Magic is played, sadly it clashes with a Yorkshire League match :(

Had me double checking the fixture list for a second there :) There isn't a major Yorkshire League clash, just one of the divisions.
(They're on a different format, so 12 rounds not 11.).

Looks a nice event in a nice, central venue. Hope it goes well. No Go, Shogi etc?

That's good news! No Shogi or Go, though I have run a couple of Shogi events in the past and will suggest this to the organisers. I'm working on bringing Exchange Chess to a venue soon ;-)

Andrew Moore had fun at Birmingham judging by these videos;

Would love to have had more notice so we could have advertised it better. However, we have advertised it on the Yorkshire site and through social media so I hope it will be a success.
Sadly I have other commitments this weekend.

I approve of this event's being on the weekend of International Tabletop Gaming Day.

(In case you're wondering: I'm not going to it; I'm going to a boardgaming day in Exeter instead.)

There’s a fair number of chess hustlers that hang around near the big boards at the front of the town hall, someone will have to go round and tell them to come round the back, though I wonder how many can come up with the entry fee :wink:
