8th Weald Congress - 5th & 6th July

The 8th Weald Congress is being held at Worth School near Crawley over the weekend of 5th & 6th July.

A popular and friendly Congress with a British 2014 qualifying place; £1,500 prize fund; and award winning BBQ!

Four sections; five round Swiss; part of the ECF Grand Prix.

Worth it for the BBQ alone in my view.

But also a very pleasant atmosphere and great surroundings.
Absolutely what a chess congress should be.

Thank you to the 113 players who supported the Congress; to Worth Abbey for hosting the event; and to Mike Forster, Sue Howell, Carol Graham & Peter Finn for running the event.

Special mention to the Sussex Junior Chess catering team who provided an excellent service over the weekend, including the sell-out BBQ!
