Golders Green August Bank Holiday Congress, 23-25 August 2014

I am pleased to announce that we will be holding our 4th weekend congress at Golders Green over the weekend of 23-25 August 2014. As this is a three day event, it will take the following format;

There will be three sections, TWO FIDE RATED AND ECF GRADED: an Open (with a British Championship Qualifying Place), an Under 1900 (or ECF 160 if you don't have a standard FIDE rating already) and an Under ECF 120 (not FIDE rated, just ECF graded).

There will be a first prize of £200 and a second prize of £100 in each FIDE section.

The time control is all the moves in 90 minutes per player PLUS 30 seconds a move.

There will be SIX ROUNDS, with two rounds a day, at 10.30am-2.30pm and 3pm-7pm.

All sections are graded by the English Chess Federation.
FIDE sections: If you are English then you will have to be a member of the ECF at Gold or Platinum to participate. Non-English players don't have to be a member of the ECF but DO have to supply a FIDE ID number with their entry.
You should be a Silver member to play in the U120 section or pay a supplement.

We have space for 100 players.
