Hampstead Internationals 15-23 December, £3000+ prizes

Timed to fit neatly between the London Classic and Hastings, from Monday 15th to Tuesday 23rd December there will be all sorts of chess taking place in Hampstead!

An international chess tournament will be taking place in the hall at Heathside School on Heath Street from 3pm to 8pm. It is valid for norms, with one game a day.

On the stage there will be the final match of the six-game challenge between French Grandmaster Romain Edouard rated 2659, and English Grandmaster Gawain Jones, rated 2661. The first five games are on stage at the Classic.

On the main floor we'll have five grandmasters from around the world battling it out with international masters and ambitious challengers over nine rounds for a prize fund of £3,000! Thanks to Brambles Administration Ltd. and The Friends of Chess for their sponsorship and to Stewart Reuben for his assistance, and to Melissa Remus of Heathside for hosting such a prestigious tournament. We couldn't do it without you.

In the weekday mornings at Heathside, players rated under 2200 will play a five round tournament with one game a day from 11am to 2pm and to top it all, over the weekend of 20-21 December, another (monthly) five round Under 2200 tournament will be taking place at Henderson Court, just down the road, and in aid of Age Concern Camden.

Thanks Lawrence! No, it's a restricted swiss with a strong entry, we could probably do with a non ENG norm seeker or two at this point...

We are holding a Brambles London Masters event over nine days in Hampstead NW3 and have an odd number of players. We need someone to make the numbers even so that everyone gets a game and to preserve norm chances for all.
