August Bank Holiday Golders Green Congress is a three-day, event. NEXT event: 29-31 August 2015.
IN THREE SECTIONS – OPEN), Under 1900 (160 ECF) and Under 135 – a British Championship Qualifying Place in the top section, £200 1st prize, £100 2nd and a rating prize of £80 in each FIDE section. Click here for latest details of the Golders Green Congress.

Entries are starting to trickle in for this event...

August is in fact a busy month for me;

Thursday August 6th - Hendon FIDE rated blitz - you need to register on http://www.hendonchessclub.com/blitz

Saturday August 8th - Golders Green Rapidplay, 6 games of FIDE rated / ECF graded rapid chess - http://goldersgreenchess.blogspot.co.uk/

Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 16th - Hampstead Congress in three sections, FIVE rounds, Under 2200 (ECF 200), Under 1900 (ECF 160) and a new ECF graded Under 135 section - http://www.hampsteadchess.blogspot.co.uk/

Sunday 23 and Monday 24 August - Mind Sports Olympiad, which features chess of all kinds! http://www.msoworld.com/

You only need to be a member of the English Chess Federation - http://www.englishchess.org.uk/ - if you are intending to register for ENGLAND in a standard play event like Hampstead or Golders Green Bank Holiday Congress.

You can take up to TWO half point byes this weekend!

42 players registered so far, which usually means we will end up with 80! if you are considering playing in the event register soon - we need 20 in the open for a British Qualifying Place

Up to 60 today, across three sections - especially need a few more players for the Open (and have a few entering last minute) and the Under 135 ECF graded section!

Done it - 20 players in the Open means a guaranteed place at the British in Bournemouth 2016 for the highest player not already qualified!
