Are we likely to get an update of entries shortly? David Clarke has been sitting there by himself for six weeks now.

At the moment there aren't a huge number to keep him company. I'll be sending round a reminder to our email database shortly which should hopefully perk things up a bit.

Oops - I forgot to mention that the dates and venue for this have now changed:

Friday 8 July to Sunday 10 July at Park Inn Birmingham West.

The 4NCL website will have the new arrangements very shortly.

Yes. I only learnt about this a few hours ago myself, and I'm in the middle of writing the e-mail to the webmaster to change it.

A few of the potential players have already been invited to the South Wales International where they have norm possibilities, at least one has accepted. As more funds become available others were going to be offered the same terms, If there are no entries so far could it be delayed ?

I hadn't realised that SWI were doing that. Allow me to think about it and consider the options.

Sorry - the new date and venue for the congress have been confirmed. I tend to use the ECF calendar as my principal guide for clashes......

As it stands at the moment, according to websites:-

The 4NCL Congress is on the 8-10th July, the other side of Birmingham at West Bromwich. That's a venue used for 4NCL weekends in the past and has the plausible merit of curry houses within walking distance. It's a clash with the Weald Congress in Kent and the Kings Place one day in Central London.
It also clashes with the South Wales Open in Cardiff.

The ECF website currently has the English Womens the following weekend (15th-17th) at the Birmingham Airport Holiday Inn.

This is out of date?

I'm confused. The English Womens has moved to the other side of Birmingham and is a week earlier. Yes or No? If yes, the ECF website hasn't caught up.

Isn't there a risk of last year's fiasco of the event being cancelled because of next to no entries?

I don't know what is confusing about it.

In the light of what Gareth posted above, I'm investigating a variety of options before committing to something new.

So it isn't a "Yes" or a "No". It's a "Maybe" while I find out what the various options might be, and at some point in the next 48 hours, we'll know what the new plan is.

A tournament where the when and where are a week and thirty miles apart.
