Alex Holowczak wrote:But the paper form says"Incorporating an afternoon Busy Persons Blitz£1780 in Prizes"
and inside the form it says:-
BUSY PERSONS. 8 rapidplay games of chess.
and
ECF longplay grades will be used.
Bolton can organise an ungraded tournament how they like but busy Boltonian players may not be sure whether Blitz or Rapidplay laws apply.

Those that attend seem to have no difficulties.

Bit of a pointless discussion, these events have been going for over 10 years now (never graded), and always run smoothly

Harry always quotes at the beginning of the event that this is not serious, and because the pairings for the first 6 rounds are continuously rolling he cannot intervene in disputes so don't have them; the players normally just get on with it knowing it is a fun event

Just a reminder that this starts Friday, and entries are still being accepted as far as I know

I'll be playing at the Busy Persons on Saturday afternoon

Not been here for ages but good to see that so many people here can still start arguments in empty rooms.

Andy Horton won the Busy Persons this pm, taking a 1 move draw in the last round to finish a point clear on 7.5/8

I managed 5.5 and won a grading prize
