Invitation to the 3rd Richmond Blitz Blast

The 3rd Richmond Blitz will take place at the Hare & Hounds public house, Sheen, on Sunday, 19th March, from 17:15 to 20:45. We will be delighted to see you there!

Playing Conditions

3 minutes per player per game, with the addition of 2 seconds a move throughout. All games will be sent for FIDE blitz rating. Computerised Swiss system pairings, made by SwissMaster for Windows 5.6. No discussion will be entered into concerning the pairings. All decisions of the arbiters are binding.

Schedule

Registration from 17:15, play starts at 18:00.

Prizes
  • OPEN 1. £65; 2. £35; Grading (U160) £25; Grading (U120) £25
  • Best Richmond Junior £25
Prize money for tied players is shared, not split by tie-break. Prizes are guaranteed. No player can win more than one prize. Prizes based on tournament performance can only be awarded to players who have scored at some point during the tournament.

All entries must be accompanied by the correct entry fee, which is £15, with a £5 discount to members of Richmond Junior Chess Club or Fulham Junior Chess Club, or one of their affiliated schools, and a £2.50 discount to other juniors. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entry.

Space is limited to 40 entries, so early entry is advised. Entries by Thursday, 16th March, please. Late entries may be accepted, but will incur a late entry fee of £3. Entries on the day will incur a £5 surcharge.

A player may withdraw at any point up to the closing of normal entries on 16th March, subject to a £5 administration fee. Withdrawal subsequent to this forfeits the full entry fee.

Venue, Transport & Accommodation

The Hare & Hounds public house, 214 – 216 Upper Richmond Road West, East Sheen SW14 8AH. Parking is free on a Sunday in the nearby Shane Lane Centre and at Mortlake Station. Mortlake Station is a short walk from the venue. A number of buses stop nearby or at Mortlake Station. Catering

The venue is an acclaimed modern public house, owned by Young's, in an old coaching house, with an excellent full menu of hot food and snacks served until 9 p.m. and hot and cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks until closing. Please consult their web-site at: http://theharesheen.com.
