The ECF U18/U13 COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010 will be on Sunday June 27th 2010 at Wilson’s School, Wallington, Surrey, SM6 9JW (11.00am-5.00pm)

It will comprise U18 open (12 board), U18 Minor (6 Board) and U13 (boards to be determined).
There may be an U13 minor, and there may be separate girl's events but these have been poorly attended in recent years.

I'll be sending out further information in a few week's time.

First official entry received from Kent.
Half a dozen other counties have said they will enter, whilst others are considering. A few cannot play.
However, I have only had replies from: Berks; Cheshire & NW; Derbyshire; Greater Manchester; Kent; Lincs; Northants; Notts; Shropshire; Surrey; Sussex; Warwicks; Wilts; Yorks
If anyone has junior team (U18/U13) contact details for any other county please do let me know.

A 4th entry received, from Sussex, entering 4 teams. So that is now 4 teams in the U18 open and in the U13 open, 3 in the U18 minor, 2 in the U13 minor and one U13 girls team.

I know that Surrey will be entering about 4 teams, Bucks hope to enter teams. But I have had no recent news from any other county.

Warwickshire are planning an entry.

Being held just west of London has made organising transport very difficult. Warwickshire seems to be about the most Northern county you've heard from.

Great to hear of another likely entry.

It is actually south of London (near Croydon), not west, which makes it even worse for those outside the south east.
Hopefully next year a county closer to the centre of England will offer to host the event.

Warwickshire's entry for the U18 and U13 looks very likely. I await the reply of about 6 players, but these come from three families, so it's nearly there...

Expecting Middlesex to enter? I don't know how they are on the junior chess scene, but you'd have thought they'd be good, and they're not far away...

It's a few years since Middlesex ran a team in the SCCU U14 or U18 events, so I'm not expecting them to enter...

I know of no other county thinking of entering, so it looks like the girls teams will play in the minor event for their ages.
