Matthew's game is about to be drawn, I assume. I have been impressed by his defence. I had concerns about the opening and after Nh5 0-0, I was instinctively looking for forced wins for White (but did not find any). White sensibly just kept the pressure on instead, but to no avail.

There is probably no need to say that the standard of play seems very high on all the live boards, relative to the age group, but it makes it all the nicer that we seem to have a number of players who have good plus scores.

Overall team score just better than 50%. As a team we finished strongly with two "plus" days, which is testament to the stamina and commitment of the players and coaches alike. At the time of writing we await the final placings.

If I take off my head of delegation hat and put on my "Dad" hat, hugely proud of Matthew's achievement - unbeaten throughout the event and somewhere in the mix for the prizes at the end. Prizegiving to come, and the journey home tomorrow.
