John Robinson Youth Chess Trust

Post by Scott Crowther » Tue Jan 22, 2013 10:54 pm

Does anyone have any info about the criteria and application process for this Fund, to help establish a new junior chess club? A website link would be great.
Thanks.

It looks as though applications have to be made by post rather than online:-

I couldn't see an application form or detail of what info is required, or even how much it's possible to apply for...?

You are right Scott, I suppose you could write telling them what you want it for and asking for more information.

I believe the Trust meets every month to discuss applications and any other issues that may come up.

I found this article on John Robinson interesting http://www.lrca.org.uk/lrca/middlegame/21.pdf. Does anyone know when he first became involved in chess in Northamptonshire?

No but he was active in the late 70s when I was a junior there.

Ok,thanks that makes sense that's when I was playing as a junior there too - when he died I recognised his name.
