Hi Andrew. I've voted and I've sent this to my Chess Club e-mail list. Best of luck.

Firstly, may I say a huge thank you to anyone who has supported this venture by voting for us.

We have an update. Two £3000 awards will be given in our region and we are one of four organisations competing for the prizes.

As of now, we are in third place with 124 votes in total meaning we would miss out on an award if the voting ended now. However, we have until November 1st to step up our campaign.

Remember, you can vote once from every mobile phone you have in your household and once fro EVERY email address.

Please, if you think its a good idea for schools in my region to be given ten free chess sets, boards and tuition, consider supporting our venture. If you have not yet voted, please consider doing so from every means at your disposal. If you have voted, have you voted from all your email addresses and phones?

Thank you so much again for allowing me to publicise this here and thanks for everyone who has supported us.

You can vote online and via SMS text message.

https://communityfund.lloydsbank.com/voting/cf_home.asp

Enter 'North Wales' in the search box and we appear at the top of the list. Click on the Vote button and enter your details (first name, surname and email address). You can vote once per email address for an organisation, and you do not have to be local to the organisation. You then need to click on the link in the email they send you to confirm your vote (this is for email address validation).

Text "VOTE KWTD" to 61119. You can vote once per mobile number for an organisation, and you do not have to be local to the organisation. Your network standard text charges apply. No additional charges are applied.

That's not very many at all when everyone can vote several times. Does it mean that many of your own members haven't maximised their votes?

PS. You had 3 votes from me about 3 weeks ago.

It seems that way. We have an event this weekend so we will target our families then. Thank you for your votes.

As the president of Bristol Uni Chess Society, I have voted and will be trying to get other people to.

There are two prizes of £3000 in our region and the latest update has us now in second place! It must be really close and there are only four days of voting left so please, if you have not yet done so, please vote for us using the details in the opening post of this thread.

Your vote could be the one that allows at least thirty schools across North Wales to receive free chess equipment.

Vote as many times as possible - once for every mobile phone and once for every email address you have.

Tell your chess friends, family, whoever.

We are so close.

Thank you so much to those who have and to those that will.

We only get an update a week. In the numbers of votes cast by text and online we are second out of four which on its own would win us £3000. However, people can also vote in-branch and we have no idea what those numbers are. Results will be announced in a couple of weeks.

It would be a miracle if we finished first or second but even if not, we know we tried. We're up against two very well thought of organisations.

Sadly, we came fourth out of four in our region and will not get the £3000 grant. We win £300 which won't go far but we hope to use it as well as possible.

Thank you to all who supported this attempt.
