Even more so for those who found themselves being bumped off an overbooked flight, being put onto a flight into a different city and then having to endure their luggage going astray followed by a 4 hour coach ride plus a 2 hour wait to cross the land border between Turkey and Georgia. Still we are all here now :)

Hopefully, those affected had their flights on a single ticket from the UK so they can claim flight delay compensation under EU regulation 261/2004.

Unless Sean patented his e2e4 chess website worldwide (I'd guess he didn't but open to correction) I'd hazard a guess and say some others have just set up another e2e4 site in another country.

Nice that we have so many of our best players available for this. In principle. But really, the ratings of their opponents seem lower than ever - and assuming them to be mainly under-rated, the event seems to be even more of a rating trap than ever (exacerbated by the new K-factor of 40).

And it is a further disappointment that there seem to have been three games already between English players. What do the coaches do in that situation?!
