Chess Sets Wanted!

Post by John Upham » Thu Jul 17, 2014 10:16 am

I noticed this request and wondered if anyone could help:
Mr Upton is planning to start a lunchtime chess club next year for Key Stage 2 children.

Unfortunately, we currently only have two complete chess sets in school, making it difficult to run the club.

If anybody has any unused, complete sets lying around at home, we would be most grateful if you would be kind enough to donate them to the school.

The chess sets need to be in good condition and in the traditional (Staunton) style; please don’t send in novelty chess sets as it isn’t always obvious which piece is which.

If you do have any sets you are happy to donate, please send them into school before the end of term on Friday 18th July.

Thank you.
The school is:

Brookhurst Primary School
Ullswater Avenue
Leamington Spa
Warwickshire
CV32 6NH

An opportunity there for the taking! :D

I am delighted to reveal that the school will be supplied with complimentary sets from

The English Chess Federation

and

ChessMaze International

so thanks to these organisations chess can start at Brookhurst Primary School in the Autumn Term :D
