Bloxwich Juniors 2½ Staffordshire Adults 14½

Post by David Blower » Sun Oct 05, 2014 6:33 pm

I was part of the Staffordshire adults side in a 17 board match.

An enjoyable morning was had by all. The children from Bloxwich Juniors ranged from those who have just started playing a few months ago, to those graded well over 100.

I know the scoreline was a very big victory for the adults and I guess it might have been expected. The 2½ for Bloxwich Juniors included one victory and 3 draws for the side.

What a good idea. Which I think I might pinch for down our way.

Thanks Jonathan.

To give you an idea of the quality of the adults team:

Board 1: Roger J Edwards (Cheddleton & Leek) 134 Drew.
Board 2: Noel A Brown (Sutton Coldfield) 133 Drew.
Board 3: Simon R Edwards (Cheddleton & Leek) 181
Board 4: Anthony R Meakin (Rugeley) 127
Board 5: Barry Lewis (Wolverhampton) 89. He lost.
Board 6: Chris Willetts
Board 7: David Blower (Brewood) 109 (Yeah that's me!)
Board 8: Peter Turner (Rushall) 98
Board 9: Chris Rogers
Board 10: Matti Rehman
Board 11: Andrew Davies (Brewood) 109 He drew. In truth he gave his young opponent a draw after he had done well, but blundered his rook near the end.
Board 12: Des Green (Sutton Coldfield) 50
Board 13: Ham Patel
Board 14: Roger Williams
Board 15: Ray J Hancox (Rushall) (Ungraded)
Board 16: Andrew Johnson
Board 17: Bob Sarat
