About to start the last round. Nobody has any idea how final platings are to be decided, but Hampton and reading (seeds 1 and 2) vying for title. Sadly a number of top players missing because of farcical scheduling of final. Manchester Grammar missing Fernandez brothers, Habs missing Ravi Haria and Eltham College without their top two. Hopefully, someone will see sense and have the event at a better time next year.

The passage of time has something to do with the changes to the Manchester Grammar team - elder Fernandez brother Daniel left school three years ago and has just finished his 2nd year of Maths at Cambridge. And the elder of the two Horton brothers, Jamie, is also at Univ now, featuring for Oxford in the Varsity match this year (in which Daniel F played board one for Cambridge). But certainly If Michael Fernandez (the younger brother) isn't available, that will be a big miss for MGS.

Manchester Grammar are not quite the force of old, but would have probably been challenging with Michael Fernandez in the team. As it is they are actually defaulting on board 6.
It would be nice to see all the top players here, but the timing of the final makes that very unlikely.
