The above event took place at the Nottingham High School over Oct 10th-11th. 42 children took part (33 boys and nine girls).
Joint first with 4.5/5 were Jacob Yoon (Middlesex) and Savin Dias (Hertfordshire) - the latter taking the title on sum of progressives.
Third were Daniel Chen (Nottinghamshire) and Chirag Hosdurga (Bristol) with 4/5; Daniel winning the prize for best score by a Year 4. Susie Wang (West Nottingham ) with 3.5/5 was top scoring girl.
I am pleased to say that the Laws of Chess were useful in dispatching a large bluebottle that caused maximum disruption to the competitors during the event; Law 12.7 being invoked.
