The latest tournament took place 5th Dec 2015, despite a severe storm that flooded many areas there was a good turn out in Colne.
For details see here : http://www.lancashirechess.com/index.ph ... congresses
As well as the juniors playing, parents were encouraged to enter their own special tournament, for those that wanted it between rounds there was coaching by 2 young gentlemen who themselves have risen through the system.
Another 6 schools are about to enter the program and more parents/players are looking into starting up school chess in their local region with the assistance of the Association.
