Re: Sunny Beach
Great news that he looks set to get him IM title very soon!
It looks like 20.c4 was just a blunder today? Maybe he had to take urgent action with something like Bxd5 or Be1.

Yes, 1 GM norm and 1 IM norm from the 4NCL. It looked like he would repeat that here but hopefully a second IM norm and breaking past 2400 will be of some consolation.Roger de Coverly wrote:According to the FIDE site, he had one previous from last season's 4NCLMick Norris wrote: How many norms does he have now?

Afternoon AllJonathan Rogers wrote:agreed but the last 30 moves were played very quickly. Lawrence probably felt annoyed with himself for not having made more of his position and was not in the mood to agree a draw at once.
Yang-Fan would not care if you wanted to play on in a drawn position for 200 moves as he be more than happy to show you it was a draw. When he used to play at Richmond Junior Chess club he was one tough cookie to break down and very few did
Weather not so good today but at least the rain butt will fill up for the greenhouse plants.
when you are successful many losers bark at you.

So James can become an IM via the 4NCL this season, if not before, which would be goodLawrenceCooper wrote:Yes, 1 GM norm and 1 IM norm from the 4NCL. It looked like he would repeat that here but hopefully a second IM norm and breaking past 2400 will be of some consolation.
