The Open tournament contains 107 GMs and a single IM, Madagascar's best ever player. He was presumably happy to open his account with a draw in the third round, but instead of repeating moves he should surely have played on. 32...Bxc3, if nothing else suggests itself.

The only interest evinced by my earlier post was in a rather odd claim on a slapdash website that the player is 7 years old.

Yesterday's loss suffered by Rakotomaharo, following a lengthy period in the middlegame where his position was assessed as +6 or higher, suggests that his decision may have been a wise one.

Heh, I knew I should have checked the thread

Well, as long as you are not Sasikiran.

Arkell ending in Divya-Gunina (which White appears to have resigned prematurely if the moves are correct, which I doubt unless Black really did miss a mate in one).

He joins a very large group in joint second on plus 3. Meanwhile Grandelius is fighting for a draw that would prevent Caruana reaching that score (and would effectively knock him out of contention.)

Though not fighting that hard, as he seems to have resigned to the astonishment of Stuart and Anna in the Chess24 studio.

Will it be Caruana (5.5) v Firouzja (6.5) tomorrow?

If we believe the Chess24 clocks then David Howell at move 18 is already down to about eight minutes, about fifty minutes behind his opponent

Meanwhile, Howell has taken over 45 minutes on move 8. I know that is how he plays, but still cannot stop wishing that he wouldn't.
It was "only" 26 minutes today; I wish he could keep playing well, but just not as slowly
