I've been watching on LiChess: https://lichess.org/broadcast/fide-cand ... j/PKK3pVZe & https://lichess.org/broadcast/fide-cand ... A/nnMreI7Y but I suspect there are several other options out there.NickFaulks wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 11:52 pmBut is there anywhere left where I can just watch all of the games as they happen?

I agree. With LiChess you can have all four positions up in one window (or phone screen) and see quickly if a move is made. You can click in and out of individual games too and see the moves played and clock times, then go back to the overview.
In another browser window on a laptop you can have commentary running and listen to that.
So far I prefer the Howell/Polgar/Hess feed because they take fewer breaks whereas a lot of time is wasted with Anand/Krush on background info about the event and players. In round 1 Howell & co seemed to have some bandwith issues and there was buffering sometimes, but yesterday it seemed Ok. But if you want the women's tournament covered, the IDE site with Anand & Krush do that whereas Howell's team don't.
In round 1 it was very annoying when a spectacular move was made, such as Vidit's ...Bg4 sac, but Anand/Krush ignored it for ages and just carried on with the women's game they were discussing.
Yesterday I didn't bother with Anand/Krush because they were taking a long break when I first tuned in, and when the commentators eventually returned there was no quick update on the games, just Krush with a lot of background waffle.

I recommend Jovanka alongside Judit Polgar on chess.com commentary this evening.Tim Harding wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 12:48 pmBut if you want the women's tournament covered, the IDE site with Anand & Krush do that whereas Howell's team don't.

Not very good on the predictions front yesterday, so I'll go for a longshot and 4 Black wins today.

Abasov gets another draw against one of the favourites with White.

A quieter round today with the exception of Pragg winning as black against Vidit.

Incredible opening preperation so far, loving the resurrection of risky dubious lines with great surprise value. Fantastic game by Pragg yesterday. Shaping up to be an exciting tournament.

Quite. Notable that each of the Indian players has won with Black already. All of which means that Black leads White so far, and while this is altogether less surprising than it used to be, even in events when not nearly everyone is playing only for first, and while it will probably will not last the 14 rounds - still, it makes for great entertainment (and education).

I imagine that several people will be putting work into the Schliemann over the rest day.

Agree with Tim that Lichess coverage is perfect. You can close off the chat, see all four games and I only discovered last round you can also remove the eval bar so you really are on your own. (and re-discover how bad you are when guessing moves.)
I pop onto chessgames who will cover one live game if I spot a two move cheapo in their game or can think up a terrible joke. (my latest groaner is mentioning that the female player Candy Dates will win and play Dame Liren.)

A former member of this forum was talking a lot on Chess24 coverage yesterday, but was being completely ignored. In fairness, everybody seemed to be getting ignored, before I stopped looking at the chat (which took about a minute).

Nepo wins to move to +2
The other 3 games were drawn, so Gukesh and Caruana on +1
