Buffer Size

Post by Gavin Strachan » Tue Aug 07, 2007 10:16 pm

Hi

Picture comes through ok but the audio is a touch bitty so it is difficult to listen to Andrew Martin's comments, I think it is a buffer or bandwidth issue? Good idea to have the video!!

I presume it is a bandwidth issue but the college supplies the video bit of the service not me

Perhaps Dave can comment?

Have the games started in Liverpool?

Nothing visible on

http://www.britishchess08.com/live.htm

or PlayChess.

Not tried ICC or ChessCube.

I cannot see them (Dave & Steve...) uploading any files at the moment but I expect the start to be delayed as the Major (or whoever...) does their bit with photo's etc. as it is the first round

Having said that, only boards 1-5 are showing moves.

6-17 are showing no moves and wierd clock times.

The opening ceremony delayed the start of round 1 by some considerable time.

I am testing some new equipment and some latest software, if all goes well, we should have more boards live.

Is this to this forum or the live games site?

I'd be curious to know the number of distinct IPs accessing the live games site.

Sorry that was live games

I don't "think" it's possible to get ip's since the live games is enclosed within the main site making the address the same?

I will have a look later at the 531 meg file from yesterday
