BRITISH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS - THE GAMES

Post by David Gilbert » Mon Jul 25, 2011 2:11 pm

I thought it might be nice to have a nice clean thread for comments on the games.

Didn't David Eggleston beat Stuart Conquest on Board One in the first round at Torquay? This though is a far tougher assignment.

you would think it would be easy by not, at the start not all games were online, there are still 2-3 boards without the times-inc board 2.

There is no web cam feed that was meant to be on, also there is no link for andrew martin's commentary-is it meant to be on (he normally starts about 3pm?)

Probably some minor teething problems on the first day but coverage seems to be working okay albeit a refresh may be needed from time to time.

Does anyone else think that IM Chris Beaumont already has a really nice position against David Howell?
True glory lies in doing what deserves to be written; in writing what deserves to be read.

Certainly playable, I probably slightly prefer White though. Qd2 ideas are mildly annoying

He doesn't have a terrific record with it but he's beaten a couple of 2150's and drawn with a few IM's and GM's in it.

Board 8 looks like a fairly typical Simon Williams game... is White holding on? :?
