I passed my viva at least, so I'm Dr. (subject to correcting my thesis, as is usual). Hopefully this won't make me massively overqualified for jobs :/.

Get that 'Dr' on your chequebook tomorrow, Nicky. One needs all the help one can get with bank managers.

And welcome to the club.

You may find that a certain sense of
"Err.. is that all there is?"
(to a PhD)

- comes upon you post-viva, but it is still an achievement worth celebrating. And it's something you earned. My dad eventually made it to be a Professor, but he always stuck to "Dr." for the reason that it was the one that he really felt had the most to do with his own blood, sweat, tears, etc.

To that statement, I agree

Thanks all. Corrections have been a pain, but they're almost over now :D.
