Congratulations to Nigel Short who won a two game tie-break to finish first ahead of the seventeen-year-old Chinese lady Hou Yifan on 8/10. The tie-break games had a time limit of ten minutes plus five seconds per move and Nigel won the first game with white before allowing perpetual check in a favourable position in game two. Nigel‘s rating performance was 2838 and included wins against Shakhriyar Mamedyarov rated 2757 and a win with black in the last round against Krishnan Sasikiran (2700).

Michael Adams scored 7.5 to finish in equal third place with grandmasters Viktor Bologan, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Emil Sutovsky. His rating performance was 2807.

David Howell scored 7 which included wins against Emil Sutovsky (2703) and Viktor Laznicka (2704) and draws with Judit Polgar (2710), Sergei Movsesian (2700) and Alexei Shirov (2710). His rating performance was 2725.
