That gives an error message (at least for me).David Sedgwick wrote:TWIC has now been amended, so here is the link:Mick Norris wrote:I was going to post the link to TWIC when I realised it had the original dates

I've corrected the link. However, it has subsequently been superseded by the one given above by Brendan.Michael Jones wrote:That gives an error message (at least for me).

Re: London Chess Classic 2012
Thanks. I heard a rumour sometime after last year's LCC that Nigel Short had requested to commentate rather than play at this year's event because he felt he could no longer compete with the 2800s - does anyone know if this is true?

Short wrote exactly that in New in Chess.Michael Jones wrote:Thanks. I heard a rumour sometime after last year's LCC that Nigel Short had requested to commentate rather than play at this year's event because he felt he could no longer compete with the 2800s - does anyone know if this is true?

Re: London Chess Classic 2012
The times_chess twitter feed says that Gawain Jones has been invited to this year's event. There's no announcement at TWIC or the Classic website yet .

Re: London Chess Classic 2012
Given the previous news that Nigel wanted to switch to the commentary box, I guess Gawain was next in line to a spot in the Classic. So this isn't particularly groundbreaking news, is it?Roger de Coverly wrote:The times_chess twitter feed says that Gawain Jones has been invited to this year's event. It is rather strange than the correspondent at the Times would have a 'scoop' about a tournament organised by the correspondent at the Telegraph.

Does seem rather odd that. Perhaps The Telegraph don't have a twitter feed!
