Chessbase
Am I the only one to be irritated by this enormous advert which appears in the middle of the chessbase news page? There seems to be no way of deleting or closing it (if there is, please tell me, in words of no more than three syllables) and it means that one cannot actually click on a number of their news stories!

Top left-hand corner
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

"close X" marks the spot in the top left hand corner.

As Justin says, but a small button to hit, particularly on a mobile device.JustinHorton wrote:Top left-hand corner
I thought they had discontinued the practice, but evidently I have configured the browser (Firefox) on the laptop to block it. At a guess, pop up blocker or ad blocker is what you look to install or activate.

This close button doesn't turn up in Chrome, but you can just click on the advert and immediately press the browser's back button.

Thanks to all, especially Mats - that seems to be my issue.

The close button doesn't appear in my version of Firefox either, but a single click way to get rid of it is by using the browser's Refresh button.Mats Winther wrote:This close button doesn't turn up in Chrome, but you can just click on the advert and immediately press the browser's back button.
