How is the problem of two players of very different heights meeting solved?

Indeed, need some Prodigy chairs to go with the table.

There's more information here. It says Caruana will either get a percentage of sales or a share of the company selling them, details still to be decided at the time of writing the article.

I wonder how many people will contribute $799 to the Kickstarter campaign to get one of these tables (with the risk of getting nothing if it fails) when the article says they intend to sell them for $399?

Monday 26th Sept: BBC Radio 4 - The greatest danger to the Global Economy is the slow down in China - quoting the (economist) Ken Rogoff.

My first B H Wood "bargain bail" CHESS bundle had an advert on the back cover, or near back inside page of another magazine, with a diagramed gamescore of a blitz game of K Rogoff v B Larsen , Zagreb (maybe Bled) 1970. A Sicilian Rauser, involving Bxf6, gxf6. White playing Bc4 - Bb3 - Black played an early Ne5 and Qb6, followed by the cheeky Rg8 -- the 0-0?? reply was met with Qxd4! (and 0-1).
Rogoff was normally much stronger, an exceptional junior. This was before his IM and GM titles.

Delancey is suing Greenland Group's UK division over a disputed final payment relating to the Chinese company's £135.7m purchase of the historic Ram Brewery site in Wandsworth two years ago. The Times (City AM 26 Sept. 2016)

In a lawsuit that could prove highly embarrassing for the state-owned Chinese company, as well as for UKTI (UK Trade & Investment), which helped to broker the deal, Delancey claims that Greenland is refusing to pay a final instalment of just over £3.7m. The Times (City AM 27 Sept. 2016)

I'm not sure a couple of players grumbling constitutes an "uproar". But I would expect many more to complain.

"Fide did not respond to a request for comment from the Daily Mail."

The Telegraph said the same thing. Yet Justin asked a polite question and received a prompt, polite and accurate reply. It would would be interesting to know what form the Maily Telegraph's requests took, and to whom they were sent.

I challenged a journalist over such comments once, and he admitted he hadn't asked anyone. Of course the papers this time might have asked FIDE as they published the articles, and not surprisingly had not received a reply ten seconds later.

The Times is running a story on the same subject:

Different take on the 'hijab' row from the Telegraph. Nigel Short arguing that this is going to finish whatever possibilities there were of seeing chess at the Olympics.

I completely fail to understand the logic.

Iran is not discriminating on any of the grounds mentioned in the article. It is merely applying a slightly more restrictive dress code. We've seen Iranian women competing in Olympic sports, physical ones, dressed in restrictive clothing that most would deem unsuitable for physical sport and that has not lead to a ban on either those sports or the Iranian team.
Ah, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.
