After Luke's frustration v. Caruana, if you have unsated appetite for further wall-banging, take a look at Arkell - Kashlinskaya. Similar frustration

4NCL Women's League

Well done to everyone involved here. A modest beginning - teams are not that strong yet. But 56 women took part: that's a step in the right direction.

Familiar names at the top after four rounds - Wood Green (8) and Guildford (6)

Onwards, upwards from Weekend 1

If elected I would look forward to working closely with the Board, in particular the Finance Director, building on what I believe is already the good relationship I have with them

I wonder if there is any way of "scientifically" testing this claim?
There is. If Baadur Jobava is seeded #111, it's the SOAT

Re: World Cup Knockout 2019

I just logged into Chessbomb to check progress in the World Cup. Brought up the position of Ding Liren - Radjabov at move 14. Asked myself, as we do, what opening had been played? I couldn't get remotely close! Just look at the position, and ask yourself: is this the product of two brilliant players...

Re: Div 3 North 2019-20

Yes, that could knacker things rather. But what to do? Teams have a duty of care, both to the set-up they join; and to each other, to ensure an orderly competition. If they can't manage that, no one else can manage it for them

Which would make it simple if all teams were going to play all 5 weekends, but they're not, so not so easy
Easy enough, no? Two Pools again, A & B. If defaults or withdrawals come, they'll likely be in rd 8-11 and affect only Pool D. Or have I missed something?
