Re: 2018 Gashimov Memorial

Heading for yet another five draws. Two still in play, as I write, of which one is stone-dead (tho caution: it involves Carlsen). Some signs of life in DL-Topa, but not too much

Re: 2018 Gashimov Memorial

a very tasty little clash between Mamedyarov and Carlsen Wrong! ;-) Witheringly dull in fact. Qs off by #11, and evaluation [0.00] barely altered until they patted hands over a deserted board thirty moves later [later add-in] Oh! I've just seen the reason for all that dull twaddle in Shak-Carlsen: ...

What doubt? He has a history, on this forum and on facebook, of sneering at young people, old people, state-educated people, and everything outside a 10 mile radius of his own club
It goes without saying, I have no such history - as the evidential record amply confirms. Never mind

Re: ECF Finance meeting 2018

1. Not one of the four rounds started on time. 2. the draw wasn’t ready most of the time 3. The website wasn’t kept up to date during the tournament after the first round, and the online or paper tables weren’t available 4. In the Intermediate the tournament changed from a Swiss to a triangular in ...

Re: Unfortunate start and end to county match

I'm surprised no one thought of the obvious solution. Just slap the white paper on the tables. Set the pieces up. No need for lines and squares.

Might add a little to the randomness of the games. But not materially in a u-120 match
