You need to think why is someone standing against Mike as CEO? Is this a general principle for all contested elections (replacing Mike with X and CEO with Y)? Phil was an excellent ECF Junior DIrector and various strands of junior chess flourised under his leadership. He ran a large team of volunteers, in a similar manner to that proposed by EJOG. It is a very strange world. Note the press releases were not personal just about standing candidates. I am sorry to be pedantic, but the press release was about standing a candidate (singular) for the Director of Junior Chess position. Are you explaining TWs election (that nobody wanted to happen apparently) on the basis that not enough people voted? Compared to the number of Silver members, very few voted. That Tim Wall topped the poll isn't the cause for self congratulation and the mandate for change he makes out. Perhaps these...
