Re: ECF Arbiter Regulations
Michael, I hope the ECF official that you said 'was not interested' wasn't me - I have been chasing this matter up since you emailed me about it in 2013, 2015 and last week! (obviously without a lot of success as we still don't have the reports!) I have emailed all the qualified arbiters that you ha...

Re: Candidates for office
FIDE Delegate Arguably all three candidates for this post have talents that they could bring to the role. There are two candidates, Stewart and I, with very similar ideology on how to build the ECF’s relationships within FIDE. I would like to therefore stand down and concentrate on development of th...

Favour needed please
Hi,
I bought some stuff on ebay without seeing that it was collection only from Finchley. Any chess friends live near there willing to pick it up from me and bring it to 4NCL at Hinkley? Petrol and a 'thank you' fee available.

Re: WHO'S GOING TO TORQUAY?
I certainly hope to have different sections on the live boards in the mornings. Dave Clayton, Matt Carr and new recruit Neville Belinfante will do us proud I am sure.
One more GM to watch in the afternoons, Simon Williams entered today!

Re: WHO'S GOING TO TORQUAY?
That's it! The 100th entry is in for the 100th British Championship as overall numbers power towards a thousand. My 1101 prediction from a month ago might even be beaten. No problem with the Fischer/Spassky (1972) generation as the British Seniors reach a new high mark of 63. It's going to be fanta...

Re: WHO'S GOING TO TORQUAY?
Entry on the day should be possible, but a £5 surcharge would be payable. Provided that there is space. Roger Edwards reported that space may soon be at a premium on some days. Sean, this is not helpful. There is acres of space! - I am sure Roger was speaking with his tongue in his cheek, just tha...

Re: WHO'S GOING TO TORQUAY?
The Quiz is usually brilliant. Kevin Staveley is quizmaster and caters for all abilities. There is often a packed house and the arbiters have only won once in the last 17 years that I have been attending! Matthew Turner's team used to win frequently but sadly he is not playing this year. The trick i...

"Tongue was firmly in cheek here. The whole event looks like it will be fantastic with so much going on and I for one, cannot wait for it all to start."
