I used to dabble with the Leningrad Dutch, but a well-known English GM told me it is 'anti-positional crap', which put me off somewhat!

And 2 more drubbings for Oxford 3, not helped by defaulting Board 6. We seem to have a lot more difficulty finding players this season. Presumably this is due to Telford being a lot further from Oxford than Daventry/Warwick/Leamington.

A major factor local government organisations is that the grants from central government (which form the major part of their income) keep being cut. So some sympathy for Somerset from me.

I was playing for Oxford 3 and we got hammered by Desert Penguins. To paraphrase a well known cricket comment, we were lucky to get zero. Was it Fred Trueman that made the comment?

In the 50+, England look to be favourites on paper in the final round clash with Slovakia. Both teams have now won their first 8 matches.
