Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 38 We could go to Old Trafford and win on the final day of the season. Neil Warnock. But it was over by then! Well here we go! As you can see from the preview, four teams were challenging leader Robert Ashworth. Mark Leonard's disastrous end to the season continued and of the remaining three t...

Re: Semi finals 2019

In the outstanding match Essex beat Cornwall so the U180 is Middlesex v Lancs; Essex v Warwicks.

The semi-finalists are MCCU 10; SCCU 9; NCCU 5; EACU 3 & WECU 1.

Re: National Stages 2019

I see that Yorkshire defaulted to Warwickshire in both the U180 & U100 competitions. In addition Berkshire defaulted to Lancashire in the U100.

Re: National Stages 2019

Lancashire have six teams competing and have lost three in their matches so far. Yorkshire and Essex are the two other counties who have six teams in competition. It will be interesting to see how sides progress to the final. I'll give my usual run down in due course at the end of the competitions b...

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 38 preview Alright - it's all over and a report to follow. However let's look at the situation before the results came in. Robert Ashworth who dramatically seized the lead from long time top manager Mark Leonard in Week 36 had established a 22 point lead over his main rival in Week 37. Meanwhi...

Re: 4NCL and the BCF

In answer to my initial post "firstly".................. There is more so "secondly"............ From the minutes of the BCF 119th Board Meeting in London 17th June 1995 The Director of International Chess [Simon Brown] spoke to his policy paper PROPOSED That the BCF involve itself in a national clu...

4NCL and the BCF

I have to admit I was there at the time and I don’t recall the BCF trying to “destroy” the 4NCL. But perhaps I didn’t notice. To be fair, they weren’t that supportive either. But the story of BCF opposition to the 4NCL seems to have entered folklore. It would be interesting to get some background. ...

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 37 The players did all they could and we can be proud of the whole club. Unai Emery Woe, woe and thrice woe! The average score for last week was 48 and every one of our leaders scored less with Mark Leonard on just 30 points and although in second place he now trails Robert Ashworth by 22 poin...

Re: Div 4 South 2018/19

Congratulations in order too (I hope) to the runners-up who finished with a higher score than the two joint winners in 2017/18.

Also a fine performance from Barnet Knights 5 who didn't show up at all in the season but still managed to finish third from bottom with two teams below them.

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 36 We could go to Old Trafford and win on the final day of the season. Neil Warnock. Probably over by then! Drama, Drama and yet more Drama as Premier Chess is thrown into confusion with two weeks to go. Plenty of captains had the wrong players at the wrong time. Among them was our lone leader...

Re: Div 4 South 2018/19

Perhaps Neil won't take it amiss if I suggest to him there's a fundamental difference between a team withdrawing from a round or rounds in good time, and inconveniencing no-one, and defaulting - which essentially means failing to meet one's commitments - through turning up with an incomplete team o...
