Re: Counties Championship 2018-19

Lincolnshire slipped up in their last match against Warwickshire who must now hope that Leicestershire fail to win either of their two remaining matches.

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 25 "The only tool we really have to sort our situation is football and is passion and a proper fight Jurgen Klopp. What a disaster last week was! For some reason I thought the double Man City match was this week and rushing out to take the equipment to a county match I didn't check properly. T...

Re: Arafat Gambit

If I was Mr Arafat I wouldn’t be in any hurry to have my name pinned to this opening. As Mr Arafat has passed away I can see no reason why his name shouldn't be linked to this for posterity. I am sure that he would appreciate that his name lives on along with many other greater chess players who ha...

Re: Div 4 South 2018/19

In respect of Camberley Juniors we already know they have withdrawn completely (See John Upham's thread) and I assume that Chesstivus have also thrown in the towel. Barnet Knights 5 haven't appeared yet and I hazard a guess that they and Barnet Knights 4 are also destined to disappear. We'll see if ...

Re: Counties Championship 2018-19

Nottinghamshire with a last gasp win over Worcestershire now qualify for the Minor Counties. Worcestershire fielded an IM and WGM on their top two boards. The last place will go to either Warwickshire or Leicestershire.

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 24 “Of the Premier League’s total expenditure in 2018/19, 72 per cent related to players acquired from overseas Deloitte sports analyst Tim Bridge Well the January transfer window turned out to be a non-event. We find that Newcastle were the top spenders bringing in Miguel Almiron (who?) for £...

Re: Counties Championship 2018-19

Three matches have already taken place in 2019. With five points from three games Lincolnshire have already confirmed their position as one of the three MCCU qualifiers; the remaining two places will depend on the final four matches. http://www.mccu.org.uk/cm18-19/minor/minor_leics_warks5jan19.htm h...

Re: How Many Times ?

As I understand it Camberley Juniors have now withdrawn from the 4NCL altogether. There is no point in entering the League if you can't take your responsibilities seriously - this applies equally to the lower divisions as it does to Division One.

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 23 I love my job, I love my job. And of course I love a big challenge Mauricio Pochettino Spurs were eliminated from two cups in five days and with an injury/absentee list longer than a till roll at Aldi and no sign of a new stadium their challenge is faltering. In Premier Chess very little to...

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 22 I take responsibility for everything David Wagner. So the Huddersfield boss ambles off into the twilight leaving the Terriers firmly fixed at the foot of the Premiership. Despite the availability of Sam Allardyce et al early indications are that yet another European manager is going to be s...

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 21 and 68 of our 77 team league have passed the 1,000 point marker. In last position is Tom Thorpe who again posted the low score of the week with 30 points; also equalled by Lawrence Cooper. That news is definitely the icing on the cake this evening after losing a 4NCL player through illness ...

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2018-19

Week 21 ‘Nobody gives us much of a chance and quite rightly so. But it’s great for our supporters Nigel Clough Burton Albion lost 9-0 and hundreds of their supporters were stuck on the M6 after the police closed the motorway to deal with a lorryload of illegal immigrants. Week 21 and 68 of our 77 t...

Re: Div 4 South 2018/19

I see that there are three absentee teams from Division Four (South) - namely Barnet Knights 4, Barnet Knights 5 and Check Innmates 3. Bearing in mind the number of registrations these clubs have notified (69 & 32 respectively), I can't understand why they are unable to raise sides given the dates o...
