Consequently Gonzaga should play 3C's 2 next round and Shropshire 1 & Bradford A should play Atticus & Cheddleton. The idea of the pairing system was to keep the top teams apart for the first few ...

Re: New Grade/Age Categories

Perhaps whilst we are discussing this we could have some details of active players in each of the grading bands If you have the necessary spreadsheet skills to analyse it, the ECF makes available a download of the grading results featuring both grade and number of games played. This information use...

With other members of Ashfield Chess Club and Long Eaton Chess Club, I attended Stan's funeral today. Stan was a true gentleman of chess and will be missed by his family and also his many chess playing colleagues, Donations were for the RNLI.

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2017-18

Week 26 No, I'm not worried. I'm not worried about my job Antonio Conte (Feb 7th) In a week where Harry Kane missed a penalty - then scored a penalty the top scoring forward of the week was Lys Mousset of Bournemouth - selected by 0.2% of teams though hat trick hero Aaron Ramsey with 20 points was ...

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2017-18

Week 25 I'm not scared to spend money. If you go out with me one night, you will understand that. Arsene Wenger A man who possibly will have plenty time at the end of the season to go out. In a week where there was a remarkable symmetry in results, Matt Payne and Adrian Matthews were top of the pop...

Demis Hassabis was the castaway in a programme last year. It don't think that was mentioned on here.

Players required - Division Three North

Oops! It seems I overestimated availability and underestimated the number of team members I required this season. There are, of course, a number of other factors that I needn't go into. However if there are any players interested in playing in Division Three (North) could they get in touch. My e-mai...

Re: Premier League Fantasy Football 2017-18

Week 24 In football, you are never invincible Marco Silva. Shortly after this Marco Silva was sacked as Watford manager. As our leading five roll on remorselessly, Matt Parry is top of the heap with 93 points largely due to Shaw being replaced by Monreal from the subs bench. Bottom of the pile is S...

Stan Cranmer

I am sorry to report the death of Stan Cranmer who passed away yesterday aged 87. Stan was playing congress chess at venues across the country until quite recently; he played his last club match in December. He was a prolific postal chess player and the winner of the British Under 150 Championship i...
