Thanks for the advice, very much appreciated!

6 people turned up last week at the club. If anybody knows anyone who could come to the club tomorrow evening (Monday) it would really help while the club gets established. The venue is really nice and the landlady kindly put on free food for us the last 2 weeks. Players from other local clubs who w...

8 people turned up on Monday for the first meeting of the club, although I'm not sure if they will all be regulars. I could do with a few more new people coming down for the next few weeks while the club gets established. If anybody knows any players in the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area that would...

Well done on the new club! And well done on choosing a pub with disabled access. I play in a pub with disabled access too. But the room for chess is up four flights of stairs! My point being: the pub may be OK, but is the chess room? Thanks David. We have 2 rooms to use for the club, one of the roo...

ECF members can enter the club championship and have their games graded. The club meets on Monday evenings from 7pm on...

Goodness, that was quick. It only went live about 12:25 and Peter's found it already. I hope you like the new features.

I'm amazed. The game information goes back 10 years and even has colour & board number. Congratulations on a job well done!

Has anybody received a grading check email from the ecf yet? I normally get one every July before the grades are published with a list of my game results so I can check for any errors before my grade is published. I've not recieved an email this month. Has anybody else had one? I can confirm that y...

It's listed as Monday 21st December at 10pm on the BBC website - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00p8lhp ... and here's how the BBC website describes it - "Many people know the basic rules of chess, but few can play really well. This programme offers some essential tips on how to raise our game. Br...

Thanks for updating the calendar, it does have more congresses than the ecf calendar. Very useful.

Do you really have to use that type of language? Juniors read the forum too.

Not very well I'm afraid, I only scored 1.5 out of 5 but I really enjoyed the congress. I thought it was very well run and I will be going again next year.
