Re: Gibraltar 2020

As David has said, I have a photo of him with aforementioned beverage, and also one of his opponent pointing gleefully to the a1 square on a demo board, but the forum has a restriction on the size/resolution of photos it is prepared to display. World Chess Day 20 July 2020

While you might have thought the UN would have been wrestling with weightier matters, they have found time to declare 20 July World Chess Day https://en.chessbase.com/post/july-20th ... -chess-day I notice it falls during the British Championships in Torquay.

Re: Council Papers are out

I think you mean the statement was intended to be correct at some point in the future As we have been told, it wasn't correct at the time it was published. Iffy and risky behaviour which I hope does not become a habit.

Re: Good/Bad things from the British 2019

GOOD: Air con, space, lighting in the Forum, arbiters, online pairings, commentary, water coolers in playing area, decent cafe, large book stall, weather, Old Vienna restaurant. BAD: absence of a section where adult players graded 120-139 would have had a reasonable chance of winning (the u1750 sect...
