I was put off my stroke by typing while travelling on the Hayes line.
You were doing what? Are you trying to kill your granny?

No harm done
Unless the child concludes, as some have, that chess appears to be a game concerned primarily with accusations of cheating and is better avoided altogether.

Ah. Is this the new term, alongside "anti-vaxxer" and "Covid denier" with which to besmirch anyone who dares to wonder aloud whether we are possibly being fed a pack of lies by politicised and self-interested "scientists"?

Still, I find Lichess' attitude to the subject to be too self-congratulatory to be healthy.
I couldn't agree more. They should either do the job or stop saying that they do it.

Rebrand it as a FIDE Online World Championship and a multitude of sins will be covered.

If you have an automated system then you must also have a very high threshold of proof for these cases.
They could have a low threshold of proof and then randomly ban one in fifty of the players they catch. I'm not saying they do that, but the fact is that we don't know what they do.

But weren't they asked, in effect, whether they were willing to risk being disqualified if it was suspected that they were cheating, because that's what the regulations said? I am accustomeded to reading financial documents in which an array of risk factors are listed, to avoid future trouble. Here...
