Re: July 2019 grades......

Monthly grading is no more difficult than checking the TV channels with your TV remote. Everybody should just mind their own business. In other words spend their time on processing entries (for their events), running websites (for their leagues, clubs etc). ....and at the end of the day just press a...

Re: July 2019 grades......

Oh, I can see now - complete removal of the 4 Surrey games from the database has increased my grade by 3 points.

Is somebody going to fix this ?

Re: July 2019 grades......

How has my Jan-2019 grade changed now. It's 169D when the ECF Grading Database always said 166D and I can show you the games involved that calculate to 166D. History should not change...

Re: July 2019 grades......

In relation to the Surrey grading I spoke to Matthew at the British and it turns out that simplest solution for me (remove the January submitted results) was feasible and I saw him do this. Thanks to Nick for offering his help in checking the results but his help has turned out to be not needed. I ...

Re: July 2019 grades......

Having spent a while today researching this also, I've realised dates and colours are not accurate either, as well as board numbers not being entertained. Why have we got a grading system with such massive deficiencies in it? Are we just hoping that the "graders" do their job properly? I was a grad...

When will this be shown on the ECF grading database?

It's already been 3 weeks, since it was published !!!

Re: July 2019 grades......

Errr... Why should Board Numbers be entertained? What relevance has that to grading? And how exactly is any software expected to detect that a grader has entered a wrong date or a wrong colour? I accept that it would be nice to have specific dates rather than a job lot for a batch - but hey - this ...

Re: July 2019 grades......

Oops, the Surrey foul up is down to me - unaccountably I used a different event code in January to the one I normally use. So, who's solving this and when? Oh and shouldn't the software have spotted duplicate results ??? edit. 3 hours later... Having spent a while today researching this also, I've ...

Re: 4NCL Game Score Sheets

I have recently moved to Hampshire and find I no longer have any room for these score sheets. However, there is some good news - I now have a car and can deliver them to someone close by, or relatively close to the A3, as I use this road to go to work. Please PM me asap if you want them, as the dust...

Re: New Year Honours List

I used to be a member at Guildford Chess Club, and remember a guy called Harry M. Carter. Is this him:- ORDER OF THE BATH Harold Mark Carter. No, he doesn't - however Philip Nižetić does exist.

I don't know any reason why his name should not be spelt correctly in the ECF Grading List, like mine is.

4NCL Game Score Sheets

I have boxes of 4NCL score sheets from when I entered the games around 2004/5/6 I think. They refer to all 4 divisions. There are neatly packed in water proof plastic Kleeneze catalogue bags in Plastic Boxes, but not yet labelled. Over the next few months I will be clearing out these boxes and wish ...

If we have a bad apple in our midst, surely it is better to out him/her to everyone, so that he/she is no longer able to profit from chess any more.

You just don't understand how the world works. Scammers are able to hide behind people like you who are too scared to allow the truth to get out.
