Re: Congresses not passing on game fee discount to entrants?

we've also increased the first prizes in each section Apoligies, I hadn't realized the prize money has been increased in the open section too, I had been told it was just the bottom 2 sections. Have we done something wrong? Not that I know of. ECF members don't get a £2 discount and have to pay £...

Re: Congresses not passing on game fee discount to entrants?

Organizers of ECF graded congresses no longer have to pay the grading fee I'm obviously missing your point Organisers don't have to pay game fee any more for non-ECF members, but have to pay £6 per player for non-ECF silver (or above) members So they often but not always used to charge £x, or a r...

Re: Congresses not passing on game fee discount to entrants?

The Birmingham Rapidplay has an entry fee of £22, with a £6 discount for ECF Silver (or above) members. So we are passing the discount on. How are you passing the discount on?? If an ECF member enters they get a £6 discount which means they pay £16. Last year the entry was £16 when the organis...

Re: Congresses not passing on game fee discount to entrants?

You mean this one? http://www.leicesterchess.co.uk/ "English players in the FIDE Open section must be Gold members of the ECF. All players in the Major and Minor must be Silver members of the ECF, or upgrade to Silver membership, or pay the £6 ECF Pay to Play fee." yes? Organizers of ECF graded co...

Congresses not passing on game fee discount to entrants?

Organizers of ECF graded congresses no longer have to pay the grading fee, entrants now have to be either silver/gold ECF members or pay the £6 pay to play fee. Are congress organizers going to pass on this discount to their entrant's entry fee? I've just looked at the upcoming Leicester congres, t...

Re: Gibbonwatch

The only good thing I got out of joining this forum was finding out about Steve Giddin's chess blog. I'm not interested in saying here any longer. I can stay updated on ECF matters via Steve's blog.

Sean, I was not born yesterday. I am fully aware of what you are saying. I think that your comments are highly personal and offensive not only to yourself but everyone who has ever participated and who will ever participate on this forum. It is your choice what you call people and what you say, but...

Re: CAS case clarification required

You've made this accusation before. It was out of order then, and it's out of order now. I would go so far as to say it is disgraceful and cowardly to make such nonsensical claims. It is people like you that have hounded an excellent CEO out of office. Well done. I hope you feel proud of yourself. ...

Re: British Championships, Torquay 2013

I went to my local chess club last night and somebody told that the British Championship was taking place in Plymouth! They had heard that from a missinformed friend. I told them that it is taking place in Torquay. I'm glad I read on this forum :)

Re: Peace - how do we get it?

I think that Carl is correct that some things are going round in circles. There have been some attempts to broker peace but they have broken down unsuccessfully. I believe we are at a crossroads. We have several options: a) Allow 1 or both parties to resign. I (and I think also a few others from th...

Nonsense, you don't feel the same issue is being gone over again then :?: This particular thread lasted 4 hours before you threatened to pull the plug. People are still posting and want to discuss it. I'm sure there are a lot of people who aren't interested in this discussion but I'm also sure ther...
