How on earth is Howell still in this game? I was expecting it to go 46...Qd3+ resigns.
That's what I expected as well (although probably not resigns straight away!) - three draws in the first stage makes this afternoon a really exciting prospect.

Re: British Knock out December 2018

Watching on Chess24, I think the DGT board is struggling to keep up with blitz and Armageddon games, but it appears that John Nunn lost on time in a completely won position against Alan Merry in the Armageddon tie break, if the transmission of moves and clock times is correct In answer to this ques...

Sorry they've taken so long - moving house along with 101 other chess things delays the process somewhat. Plus once...

Re: Rounds 1 and 2 (2014-15)

A decision was made and stuck with, however due to an error of the wrong pairings being published and the error not being noticed until late on, a decision had to be made whether to stick to the pairings published or the pairings that we wished to be used. It was agreed the pairings published should...

Re: World Youth Chess Championship - 18th to 28th December 2

For Wales, we're all enjoying the tournament and looking forward to the final couple of days :-)

I've won 3 in a row, and we have a Wales vs Ireland battle in the U18s.
Venetia our highest scorer is on 7/9 half a point behind the leaders.
