Re: Netanya Masters

It was an error-strewn game and the eventual ending should have been drawn, but Eljanov couldn't handle Luke's united passers. I was following it with a decent engine, and on the whole the game was well played by both, until the final error from Elijanov. I don't know about elsewhere but the 'house...

Kevin is keen on the idea. I'll find out tomorrow if the venue has the 1500 square metres the event would need.

On the website it says
We have two halls, with a total area of 588 sqm

Nor am I asking for any personal revelations. Just anything at all. The same goes for all the competitors, but it is natural to ask about the leader.

Re: You Think English Juniors are Underrated ...

I noticed many juniors scoring very well in the recent 4ncl Basingstoke congress, U2050 section.

Out of 17 juniors born 2006 or later. 14 gained rating points. The average rating gain of the 17 was 32 points.

Well you may look a bit silly when you find I am right Nick Burrows. I am not responsible for your poor research. Please explain where my research failed. I counted all of your ECF rated tournaments over the last 10 years. Are you counting unrated opens? I look forward to your explanation and contr...

Re: https://greatbritainjuniorsquad.com/official-partners/

I have bow won 168 Opens a average of winning 1 in every 2 that I have entered. I would be surprised if anyone else has a better than 50 percent winning ratio for Open tournaments victories, possibly Arkell or Hebden. I didn't believe you, so I checked your open results over the past 10 years. I ma...

Re: Brian Walden

I knew Phil a bit when we both lived in Oxford (as I believe he still does). He gave up chess a long time ago, and when I bought a few secondhand books in Chess and Bridge some years back, I noticed some were signed P Walden. There is a strong player called Andrew Walden who played a few games for ...

Re: Div 4 South 2018/19

Perhaps the reason was that Fischers' Catch had already played West is Best. It was an exceptionally lucky draw for us, but I like to think we earned it!
