Re: ABERYSTWYTH - ARE YOU GOING?
I am sure everyone thinks that David does a good job drumming up the anticipation of the British, but the entry for the under 16's currently standing at 4, must be deemed as disappointing.....why is it so poor?

Re: 37th Surrey Chess Congress, Easter + Spring Bank Holiday
I have just looked at the entry form for the Surrey weekend congress and the first prize of £100 in each section is just so poor, especially as the entry fee is £27. Re: Participation and funding
I am impressed by Alex's knowledge of ice hockey, as I agree with him, ice hockey is very entertaining, as I have been attending matches in this country since the mid 1970's when the London Lions played out of Wembley arena for one season, then becoming an international ice hockey referee and linesm...

Re: London Chess Classic 2013
I think you could be right that the +2600 brigade would have already agreed in advance that they would move up to the classic, but looking at the prizes in the open and the classic, it makes sense to move up, as the 9-16 get €3125, and the winner of the open gets £2500

Re: London Chess Classic 2013
The rules are very simple, the two leading players after 4 rounds will go into the "classic rapid play", if there are more than two players with the same score, the two highest rated players will qualify!

Re: ECF Grand Prix 2013/2014
Many thanks for explaining that, and I do agree it would be helpful for the ECF to have to have at least put it on the web site at some point

ECF Grand Prix 2013/2014
I see on the ECF website that there are no updates for ECF Grand Prix for this season, considering we are now nearly at the end of October, and there was a problem supplying updates last year, does anyone know when we are likely to see any info?

Re: Hastings International Chess Congress 2010-11
Well they had a very short draw in lasts years competition, and they walked out of the complex afterwards, which seems to suggest they know each other very well
